Every tier uses the same personalized connector pattern, so your team can work from the MCP-enabled client they already use.
Availability depends on the MCP features enabled in each client build and account, but the same ContractHub connector model applies across all tiers.

Step 2: Your ContractHub MCP Connector
Use this signed connector URL to connect Claude or ChatGPT to ContractHub without exposing any platform secrets. Free and Pro use live source access; Max will eventually add Insight Curated Intelligence Data.
Sign in and choose a plan to generate your connector URL
ContractHub now keeps the platform API key server-side only. Your connector URL is signed and scoped to your account.
Do not share your connector URL. It is your user-scoped access token.

Setup Guides
▶ Claude Desktop App (Mac / Windows) Recommended
1. Open Claude Desktop → hamburger menu (top-left) → Settings → Developer → Edit Config
2. This opens claude_desktop_config.json
3. If the file is empty or just {}, paste this config:
4. If the file already has content, add the "contractshub" entry inside the existing "mcpServers" block
5. Save the file and restart Claude Desktop
6. Look for the hammer icon in the chat bar — that means ContractHub is connected
7. Try: "Search SAM.gov for IT modernization contracts in Virginia"
▶ Claude.ai Browser (Any Device Including Phone)
1. Go to claude.ai and sign in
2. Start a new chat → click the plug icon or MCP Connectors in the chat bar
3. Click "Add custom connector"
4. Paste the connector URL from Step 2 above
5. Your SAM.gov key is handled automatically — no extra headers needed
6. Start asking questions about federal contracts
▶ ChatGPT Desktop App (Mac / Windows)
Requires: ChatGPT Plus or Team subscription. Desktop app only — ChatGPT web browser does not support MCP.
1. Open ChatGPT Desktop → Settings (gear icon)
2. Go to Beta features → enable Developer mode
3. Go to Settings → MCP Servers → Add Server
4. Enter the connector URL from Step 2 above
5. Your SAM.gov key is handled automatically — no extra headers needed
6. Save and start a new chat
Note: ChatGPT web (chatgpt.com) does NOT support MCP servers. You must use the desktop app.
▶ GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, and Other MCP-Enabled Clients
1. Open the MCP or tools settings for your client.
2. Add a new custom MCP server using the connector URL from Step 2 above.
3. Your SAM.gov key is resolved automatically — just paste the URL and connect.
4. Save the connector and start asking procurement questions.
Tip: The exact menu name varies by client, but the connector URL stays the same across MCP-enabled apps.
▶ Getting Your Free SAM.gov API Key (5 minutes)
Required for Free Trial and Pro plans. Max will use Insight Curated Intelligence Data when that tier becomes available.
1. Go to sam.gov → click "Sign In" (top right)
2. You'll be redirected to login.gov. Create an account if needed (email + password + MFA setup)
3. After signing into SAM.gov, go to your profile or visit sam.gov/content/entity-information
4. Scroll to "Public API" section → click "Request API Key"
5. Fill in your name and email. Your API key (starts with SAM-) arrives by email within minutes
6. Come back here and paste it in the Step 1 box above
